QR Code Minimum Size for Posters and Banners
Size matters when it comes to distance. Learn how to calculate the perfect QR code dimensions for your outdoor advertising.
The Distance Equation
The further away the scanner is, the larger the code needs to be. For a poster that people will scan from 2 meters away, the QR code should be at least 20cm x 20cm.
Data Density
If your QR code contains a lot of data (like a full vCard), the pattern will be denser and harder to read. In these cases, you should increase the physical size by 20-30%.
Placement is Everything
Never place a QR code at the very bottom of a poster on the ground or too high up. Eye-level or slightly below is the 'Golden Zone' for scanning.
